One of the Finest Seasons in School History

The 1999-2000 Fitchburg High School boys' indoor track & field team concluded one of the finest seasons in school history. The Raiders finished unbeaten at 5-0-1, captured the Mid-Wach A Relay and League Championships, and finally, captured their first ever District E Division I Championship in the 21 year history of the event, with an overwhelming victory over defending champion St. John's of Shrewsbury, 92-54.

Captains Matt Eppy, Ryan Bourque, Harold Mateo, and Jason Quinn

Led by senior captains Matt Eppy, Ryan Bourque, Harold Mateo, and Jason Quinn, along with fellow seniors Ben Brideau, Joaquin Kilson, Tim O'Brien, Scott Gendron, Chris Cordio, Dan Savukoski, Mike Caron and Erik Babineau, the Raiders set 10 new school records , to dominate Central Massachusetts Track. Also contributing heavily to the season's success were underclassmen Nick Brandenburg, Blaine Colacchio, Tim Keenan, Tom Laakso, Adam Renquinha, Tim Roy, Marcus DiNatale, Jon Shea, and Bryan Marotta, who not only provided the depth necessary for the team's success, but point to a bright future for next year's team.

Mid-Wach A and District E All-Stars and Champions

Named Mid-Wach All-stars for their efforts were Brideau, Quinn, Bourque, Kilson, Mateo, and the mile relay team comprised of Cordio, O'Brien, Renquinha, and Eppy. Individual District E Championships went to Bourque, Brideau, and Quinn, along with the mile relay team comprised of O'Brien, Cordio, Renquinha, and Eppy.
